Glock 42 vs P365-380: Which One Should I Choose?

The Glock 42 weighs about 13 ounces while the P365-380 weighs slightly more, around 15.5 ounces. Not a huge difference, but for daily carry, every ounce counts!

I feel like comfort plays a major role in how I carry. With the P365-380, I can easily slip it into an appendix carry holster, but with the Glock 42, it sits better on my hip. Any preferences there?

I’ve tried appendix carry with both. The P365-380 does have a slightly higher profile but feels more secure. Just a matter of training, really!

I always joke that the lighter the gun, the more cookies I can carry in my pocket! But seriously, weight does matter for daily comfort.

I appreciate everyone’s insights! I’m really leaning towards the P365-380 for my concealed carry needs. It’s important for me not just for comfort but also for how it integrates into my daily life.

I’ve researched both pistols and the Glock 42 typically retails around $400, while the P365-380 can go for about $450. It’s not a huge difference, but worth noting!

That’s a solid point. Don’t forget to consider ammunition costs as well. .380 ACP ammo prices can vary, but P365-380 might be a bit pricier in bulk since it’s newer on the market.

Also, holster availability is crucial! Glock 42 has many options since it’s been around longer. P365-380 is catching up, but variety is still limited.

My concern is about aftermarket accessories. I find that Glock has a ton of options. Has anyone tried customizing a P365-380?

From a long-term perspective, if you plan to shoot often, ammo costs could really add up. Glock generally has a better resale value, too.

Good point! I wonder how maintenance costs compare. Do either of these models require specialized service?

In my experience, both are quite reliable and don’t usually need specialized service. Just standard care! Love my Glock, but the P365-380 is tempting.

I was leaning toward the P365-380 for its size and shootability, but cost-effectiveness is paramount! This is tough. Any more thoughts on which has better long-term value?

Honestly, both are great, but I’d say Glock takes the edge for accessories and resale.

That’s something to consider! Can we also factor in insurance costs? Might be a small detail but can influence total ownership costs!

Haha, very true! My insurance is surprisingly affordable for my Glock. It might be worth checking rates for both guns!
