I’m really interested in this topic! The Shield Plus deserves a solid IWB holster. From my experience, I find that retention is key for everyday carry, especially with a compact like the Shield. A high-quality kydex holster often balances both draw speed and retention well.

That’s a great point! I also prefer kydex holsters. My favorite is the Concealment Express IWB; it’s comfortable and has adjustable retention without sacrificing draw speed.

I’ve been using a CrossBreed SuperTuck for my Shield Plus. What I love about it is the comfortable design, plus it offers great retention. Does anyone else have thoughts on leather versus kydex?

I prefer kydex for the quick draw! However, leather is definitely more comfortable for long wear. Each has its pros and cons depending on your needs!

Great discussion, everyone! I think having adjustable retention is critical. The Bravo Concealment Torsion is worth considering because it allows you to modify retention while being very accessible while drawing.

Thanks for that recommendation! I’ve heard some good things about Bravo. I wonder how it feels compared to something like the Alien Gear IWB; anyone tried both?

I used an Alien Gear for a while, and it was great for comfort! But I got faster draws with my kydex holster. It’s all about what you prioritize more for everyday carry, I guess.

Absolutely, training is key! You can have the best holster, but if you don’t know how to use it effectively, it’s not going to help you. I recommend incorporating some drills into your routine.
