Need Insights on Flat Wire Recoil Springs for 1911

That sounds like a practical approach! Does anyone know how those compare in price and performance to fixed weight springs?

Speaking of price, flat wire springs can be a bit more costly but often give better performance. I’ve noticed smoother cycling, especially with my plated rounds.

That’s good to know! But what about longevity? Do they last longer than traditional springs?

Definitely! Flat wire springs tend to have a longer lifespan due to their design. Less coil set means they can handle more cycling before loss of tension.

So, essentially, while they may cost more upfront, they’ll pay off in the long run? Sounds like a win-win!

Exactly! Plus, they tend to reduce muzzle flip a bit more than traditional springs, giving you faster re-acquisition of targets. It’s great for both range sessions and competitions!

I must say, talking about recoil springs gets me more excited than it probably should! If you ever need help picking one out, I volunteer as tribute for testing all the options! :joy:
