Can I Put an M&P 2.0 Slide on a 1.0 Frame?

That’s a good point, Emily. I think the added weight could slow down the muzzle rise, which might actually help with follow-up shots!

I’ve done this conversion before! My accuracy didn’t tank; if anything, it felt more stable. Just be aware of the sight alignment differences due to the different slides.

That’s good to hear, John! Stability is key, especially for those who like rapid shooting!

From my tests, the reliability of the firearm post-modification was solid. No failures to feed or fire, which is a huge plus. Just make sure you use compatible parts!

Thanks for sharing that! Reliability is everything. Did you notice any difference in recoil management?

Sometimes, it feels like I’m shooting a different gun! The handling does change a bit, feels a little more snappy. I wouldn’t say it’s ‘better’ per se… just different.

Out of curiosity, has anyone compared the trigger pull between both setups? I’m wondering if the slide swap impacts that too.

Good question! I have yet to test that. I noticed that the reset sometimes feels different but didn’t measure it. Anyone have hard data?

Lively discussion! My buddy made this switch and loved it. Just keep in mind that moving to the 2.0 slide may void some warranties for the gun. Be careful with those original manufacturers!

Absolutely! That could save some headaches later. Always worth double-checking those warranty policies!

To add some humor—if anything goes wrong, just blame it on the upgrade! Kidding, of course. But let’s hope for smooth sailing!

Haha, good one! With firearms, we can never be too careful. It’s all about safety and verifiable modifications.

It’s worth reflecting on why we want to mod our guns. Each upgrade should improve our shooting experience, whether through feel, performance or accuracy.

Wise words! Sometimes the journey to better performance leads to unexpected results, too.

Overall, I think it’s a worthwhile experiment if you have a 1.0 frame laying around. Just make sure to test it safely and enjoy the process!

It’s critical to check your warranty. Some manufacturers might consider swapping slides as a modification, which can void any warranties you currently have.

Good point! I wonder if swapping slides could also conflict with state regulations on firearm configurations.

In many places, firearm modifications can lead to legal complications. Make sure to research local laws regarding parts compatibility!

That’s a valid consideration! Depending on where you live, some modifications could affect your firearm’s status as compliant.

Swapping slides might also affect resale value. If the gun isn’t in its original configuration, potential buyers could be wary.
