I’m looking to gather some insights and experiences regarding the Sellier & Bellot 6.5 Creedmoor 140 grain ammunition. I’ve heard a lot about it but would love to know what others think before I make a purchase.
Key Points of Interest:
Performance: How does it perform at various distances?
Accuracy: What has your experience been like in terms of precision shooting?
Reliability: Has it jammed or had issues in your rifle?
Hunting Suitability: Is it effective for hunting applications?
If you have any tests, paper targets, or general feedback, please share! I’m particularly interested in hearing from those who’ve used it in real-world scenarios. Any suggestions or tips would also be greatly appreciated!
I’ve been using Sellier & Bellot 6.5 Creedmoor 140 grain for about a year now. In windy conditions, I noticed it holds a nice trajectory up to 300 yards. However, beyond that, wind does seem to influence the bullet more than I’d like.
Definitely! I’ve shot it in temperatures below freezing, and it performs well. The only downside I’ve noticed in cold conditions is that the recoil feels a bit sharper. But accuracy remains solid.
Good to know, @taylorjessica! I’ve been hesitant to try it when it’s cold, but your feedback makes me more confident. What about humidity? Does it impact performance?
Humidity hasn’t really affected my shots much. I think the sellier & Bellot design handles moisture fairly well. I always check my ammo before heading out, just in case though.
Not really! I typically don’t see a noticeable difference in performance, although the consistency can sometimes feel off when it’s super muggy. Mostly, I’d say it’s reliable for me.
I’ve shot in humid conditions too, but I found that the accuracy remains intact. It’s crucial to store the ammo right, though! Has anyone had issues with corrosion?
From my experience, higher elevation can make a big difference, especially with wind. I find 700+ yards to start drifting more noticeably. Anyone else notice this?
For sure! It’s like a reminder that nature’s unpredictable. That said, I do enjoy the challenge it brings in different conditions. Keeps it interesting!
I’ve got to say, shooting the Sellier & Bellot 6.5 Creedmoor in varying weather is a wild but rewarding ride. Just ensures I always double-check conditions!
Funny how we rely on the weather for accurate shooting! I sometimes joke that I could write a weather report based on my last few trips at the range! Anyone else feel that way?
I recently tried the Sellier & Bellot 6.5 Creedmoor 140 grain, and I must say, the accuracy was impressive! Definitely comparable to Hornady offerings at a better price point.
The recoil on the Sellier & Bellot is surprisingly light—definitely less than the Remington. I shot a whole box without feeling fatigued, which is a bonus!
I’ve been using it for a while now. Accurate and very consistent at long range. It holds its own against Federal’s ammo too, both in performance and price.
