What's the Best .22 Suppressor for 2023?

Looking for recommendations on the best .22 suppressors available this year. With so many options on the market, it can be overwhelming to figure out which ones are worth the investment. Here’s what I’d like to discuss:

Performance

  • Sound reduction: What have you guys noticed in terms of noise reduction among various models?
  • Accuracy: Have any suppressors noticeably affected your shot accuracy?

Features to Consider

  • Weight: Is a lighter suppressor always better, or do heavier ones offer some advantages?
  • Durability: Which brands do you trust in terms of build quality? Any horror stories about a suppressor failing after a couple of uses?

Recommendations

  • I’ve seen a few videos on YouTube that highlight the top performers, but I’d love to hear personal experiences as well.
  • Are there particular models that stood out to you? Any to avoid?

Pricing

  • What should I expect to spend on a good quality .22 suppressor? Are there budget options that still perform well?

Personal Experiences

  • If you own or have used a .22 suppressor, what was your experience like? Would you recommend it?
  • Any tips for maintenance to keep it functioning well?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! Let’s make a comprehensive list of the best options out there for 2023!

I’ve been using the SilencerCo Sparrow 22 and it’s fantastic! It really reduces sound levels and is very versatile with different ammo types.

That’s great to hear! I’ve been considering that model too. How does it compare with the Dead Air Mask? I heard that one’s also pretty quiet.

The Dead Air Mask is definitely quieter with subsonic ammo, but it’s a bit heavier. I think it really depends on your preferences for weight and sound reduction.

Good to know! I always use subsonic, so maybe I should look into the Mask more seriously.

I’ve tried the AAC Halcyon as well. It’s lightweight and offers great sound reduction, especially if you’re just plinking.

Does anyone find the Halcyon too loud with high-velocity rounds? I’m curious about user experiences.

I haven’t found it too loud, but it’s not as quiet as the Sparrow with subsonic. It’s all about what you prioritize in your shooting.

Every suppressor has its own application. I’d say if you’re hunting, the Sparrow might be better. For casual range time, Halcyon is great.

That’s a solid perspective! I’m looking for something versatile for both hunting and casual shooting.

In that case, maybe the SilencerCo Sparrows’ versatility might suit you best. It’s pretty adaptable to both scenarios.

What about durability? I’ve heard some suppressors can wear out quickly. How do the top models hold up? Any long-term reviews?

The Dead Air models have a good track record for durability. I’ve put thousands of rounds through mine without issues.

That’s reassuring! Sounds like I won’t have to replace my suppressor every season. Are any of these models more prone to getting stuck on the threads?

I have a buddy who has issues with the Sparrow getting stuck sometimes, but it can depend on how often you clean it. Just keep up with maintenance!

Never thought I’d be ordering a suppressor and cleaning kit together. Are we sure suppressors don’t come with a laugh track for how absurd that sounds?

Right? Suppressors that need a clean and a chuckle! Either way, it’s all worth it for the quiet shot.

When it comes to .22 suppressors, materials really do matter. Titanium suppressors are popular for their lightweight and durable properties. Have any of you tried one? What do you think of their performance in the field?

I totally agree, leahferguson! I’ve used a couple of titanium suppressors and they held up really well. The weight difference is noticeable, making them a joy to carry for extended periods.

I find that the overall build quality often reflects in the sound reduction. Has anyone looked into the baffle designs of the latest models? It’s something I’ve been curious about.
