What’s the Best RMR for Glock 19 MOS?

Looking for Recommendations on RMRs for Glock 19 MOS

I’ve been considering upgrading my Glock 19 MOS with a red dot sight and I’m hoping to tap into the community’s experience here. Specifically, I’m interested in finding out what the best RMR (Reflex Miniature Red-dot) options are for the Glock 19 MOS.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Performance: How do the different RMRs perform in various lighting conditions?
  • Compatibility: Are there any issues with mounting or adjusting the zero on certain models?
  • Personal Experiences: What’s been your experience with models like the Trijicon RMR or different Holosun options?

Key Specs Considerations:

  • Durability: I’m looking for something that can withstand recoil and is suited for tough environments.
  • Battery Life: A longer battery life would be ideal because I don’t want to worry about changing batteries often.
  • Price: What’s the best bang for your buck without sacrificing functionality?

Some Options I’m Considering:

  • Trijicon RMR: I’ve heard a lot about this model. What do you guys think about its reliability and clarity?
  • Holosun HS507C: I’ve seen mixed reviews, particularly regarding its features.
  • Other Suggestions?: Are there any lesser-known brands or models that have impressed you?

I appreciate any advice you can share! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and recommendations.

I think the Trijicon RMR Type 2 is one of the best options for the Glock 19 MOS. It’s durable and offers a 6.5 MOA dot that’s really easy to pick up in all lighting conditions.

Absolutely! I’ve had mine for almost a year now, and it has held zero remarkably well. I also love the adjustable brightness settings!

I’m leaning towards the Holosun 507c. It has a larger viewing window and dual illumination, which can be a game changer for some shooters!

The Holosun 507c is great! The solar backup feature is really unique and I’ve found it to be quite effective.

What about battery life? I’ve heard that some models can drain faster than others, especially in higher brightness modes.

That’s a fair point! The Trijicon RMR is quite good, but the Holosun definitely has the edge there.

Sure! I’ve faced battery issues with some other brands. The Vortex Viper is okay, but it can be finicky at times.

I haven’t tried the Vortex myself, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. What makes it finicky for you?

Well, for starters, the mounting can be tricky if you’re not careful. It took me a couple of attempts to get it right.

Have you looked at the Sig Romeo 1 Pro? I’ve heard it’s surprisingly good for the price range. Just a thought!

I have, but I find the aesthetics off-putting. Performance-wise, though, I’d say it’s solid!

I’ve had great success with the Trijicon RMR Type 2 on my Glock 19 MOS. Make sure to use the proper mounting screws and don’t overtighten them; that can cause damage to the slide.

I’ve also heard that the Holosun 507C is a good option. It’s more budget-friendly and has excellent battery life!

Make sure you calibrate after installing. I suggest using a laser bore sight to get it dialed in quickly. Common pitfalls include installing it off-center.

Speaking of installation, I found it tricky to align the sight with the iron sights. That’s a common issue, isn’t it? How do you guys manage that?

Great tip! Have you experienced any shift in zero after firing a few rounds?

Don’t forget to check the battery every now and then! I lost the dot during a range session once. Not fun at all.

I’ve heard that some people prefer to use blue Loctite on the screws. Is that something you guys recommend or no? I’m a bit torn on it.

I wouldn’t recommend it. I had a friend who had issues with the RMR coming loose after using it.
