Sig P938 vs P238: Which One for Concealed Carry?

I’m trying to decide between the Sig Sauer P938 and the P238 for concealed carry, and I could really use some advice. Both models are compact, but there are a few key differences that I need help with:

Size and Weight

  • P938: I hear it’s a bit heavier and feels more substantial in the hand.
  • P238: On the other hand, I’ve read it’s lighter and easier to carry around all day.

Recoil and Handling

  • I’ve seen mixed opinions regarding the recoil on each. Is the P938 much stiffer in that regard? What have your experiences been like?

Personal Experiences

  • If anyone has used both, I would love to hear your thoughts. Which one feels more comfortable during prolonged carry? Any preferences for trigger feel or shooting experience would also be really helpful.

Carry Options

  • Lastly, I’m curious about holster availability and options for each model.

Any insights or personal stories would be greatly appreciated as I navigate this decision. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been carrying the SIG P938 for a year now, and the size and weight are perfect for concealed carry. It’s light and fits well in my holster. Just my two cents!

That’s great to hear! I’ve always preferred the P238 due to its lighter weight. It’s also chambered in .380, which is a nice option for those with less recoil sensitivity.

I find both the P938 and P238 ergonomic, but the P938’s grip feels slightly more comfortable for my hand size. Does anyone else have thoughts on ergonomics?

I agree! The P938 fits snugly in my hand. The P238 feels a bit small for my grip, but it’s super easy to carry.

I go back and forth on caliber. The P938 with 9mm gives you more stopping power, but 380 in the P238 is still effective for self-defense. Any preferences around caliber?

I prefer the P938’s 9mm, especially for home defense. But for everyday carry, the P238 is a bit more manageable.

Size wise, I think the P238 is the champ for deep concealment. It’s really just a matter of which one you feel safer carrying.

Exactly! Personal preference plays a huge role. I wanted to make sure whichever I choose, it feels like an extension of my hand.

I’ve had issues with the P238’s magazine release being a bit too sensitive for my liking. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I’ve noticed that too! It’s made for a couple of awkward moments at the range. I feel like the P938 handles the mag release better.

For me, a lighter pistol makes a huge difference in daily carry. Both are fantastic, but I sometimes think the P238 feels almost like a toy!

Haha, good point! As long as it shoots, right? So many times, I’ve almost overlooked it because of its size.

At the end of the day, it really depends on your needs. Do you want a gun primarily for defense or just to have something on you?

Great point! I primarily want it for defense, which is why I lean toward the P938. The 9mm gives me peace of mind.

I love both models, but I always find myself going back to my trusty P938. It feels robust and reliable, essential for concealed carry!

I’m really torn between the Sig P938 and P238 for concealed carry. Both are compact, but I wonder which one really offers more comfort for all-day carry.

I faced the same dilemma! I ended up with the P938. It’s slightly heavier, but I find it more comfortable when carrying for long periods.

I prefer the P238 for its lightweight design. It just feels like an extension of my hand. Plus, it’s easier to conceal under lightweight clothing!

That’s a good point! The weight difference is noticeable. Are there any issues with recoil on the P238?
