Looking for the Best Holster for Model 19 Carry Comp?

I’m on the hunt for the perfect holster for my Smith & Wesson Model 19 Carry Comp and could really use some input from the community! Here’s what I’m looking for:

Key Considerations:

  • Concealment: Since I plan on using it for everyday carry, the holster should allow for good concealment without sacrificing comfort.
  • Comfort: I’d love to hear about any options that you have found particularly comfortable, especially for long periods of wear.
  • Design: Any recommendations on holsters that have intuitive designs for easy access would be appreciated.
  • Compatibility: Are there specific brands or models that you’ve tried and found to work well with the Model 19 Carry Comp?

Questions to Consider:

  • What are your go-to holsters for this revolver?
  • Any specific features that you find indispensable in a holster?
  • Would you recommend OWB (Outside the Waistband) or IWB (Inside the Waistband) options, and why?

Looking forward to hearing your experiences and suggestions! Thanks in advance!

I’m using a bladetech holster with my Model 19 Carry Comp, and it’s been fantastic for concealed carry. It hugs my body well, especially with fitted clothes. Very minimal printing.

I tried a Galco Inside the Waistband holster and found it extremely comfortable for range shooting. It feels secure and doesn’t shift while moving.

I’ve been searching for something that fits with athletic wear. Does anyone have experience with holsters that work well for that? Might need to switch it up!

I hear you! I have a Crossbreed Supertuck that works great, even with a tighter fit. Just make sure to adjust it properly!

For everyday carry, I prefer a level 2 retention holster. It may not be ideal for concealed carry, but it gives me peace of mind during my range sessions!

Anyone else experience chafing after a few hours wearing their holster? I enjoy wearing a ‘tactical’ shirt but sometimes wish it was more comfortable!

Chafing is the bane of my existence! I switched to a softer material holster and it’s made a huge difference.

I find that my Kydex holster is great for the range but can be a bit uncomfortable for long periods. I often worry about the print when wearing a hoodie.

That’s been my experience too! A good cover garment helps minimize printing.

I’m currently using a shoulder holster for my Model 19 Carry Comp, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. Curious if I should stick to the waist or give it a shot!

Shoulder can be comfortable if you find the right fit! Just watch out for quick draws. Anyone have a recommendation?

Just remember, the holster that works for one body type may not work for another. Always test a few before making a decision – it’s like dating! Keep swiping! :joy:

I’ve been using a holster that has a retention adjustment feature, and it holds my Model 19 Carry Comp securely, even during movement. Highly recommend checking out holsters with adjustable retention.

I agree! Retention is key. I have a one with a locking mechanism and it hasn’t failed me in any situation.

Finding a holster with a good balance of retention and ease of draw is essential. A snug fit really helps during high-stress scenarios. Anyone tried Kydex options?

Yes! Kydex has been a game-changer for me. Super secure and easy to reholster when I need to.

I’m looking at several holsters right now. Can anyone comment on their experience with retention while jogging or moving a lot? I need something reliable.

I’ve jogged with my holster and it stayed in place, but I think the fit is crucial. A little too loose could be problematic.

Are there any holsters that come with both retention and a smooth draw? I feel like some designs focus too much on one or the other.
