Seeking Recommendations for a .22 LR Suppressor Host
Hey folks,
I’m on the hunt for the best .22 LR pistol that can serve as an ideal suppressor host. I’m particularly interested in models known for their performance and reliability when used with a suppressor. After doing some research, I’ve come across a few options like the Ruger Mark IV, Buckmark, and the SIG P322, but I’d like to hear from the community about your experiences.
Here are some aspects I’m considering:
Reliability: How well does the pistol function with a suppressor attached? Any specific issues or recommendations?
Ease of Use: Which models are user-friendly, especially for someone new to suppressors?
Performance: Are there particular models that truly shine when it comes to accuracy and sound reduction?
Aftermarket Support: Availability of upgrades or modifications that enhance suppressor use.
If you have any insights or personal experiences with these or other models, I’d greatly appreciate your input! Thinking of making a purchase soon, so any advice to narrow down my options would be super helpful. Thanks in advance for all your help!
Looking forward to your suggestions!
Possible Candidates:
Ruger Mark IV
Browning Buckmark
SIG P322
Questions:
Are there any other models I should be considering?
How does the weight of the suppressor affect handling?
I’m on the hunt for a .22 LR pistol suppressor host too! I’ve heard good things about the Ruger Mark IV. It’s got a threaded barrel, and the performance is outstanding when suppressed.
I’ve been using the Walther P22 for a while now. The 3.4" variant fits great with my suppressor. I’ve faced no issues, and it’s so fun to shoot quietly.
Has anyone tried the Browning Buck Mark? I’ve read that it has great accuracy and it’s easy to suppress, but I haven’t had a chance to test it myself yet.
I’ve used various .22 LR pistols suppressed – each has its quirks. The threaded barrels are key; I generally prefer longer barrels for better performance. A couple of extra inches make a big difference in sound.
Just to throw a wrench in the mix, I’ve had mixed results with suppressors on the native threaded models. Sometimes they tend to have problems cycling, especially if using standard velocity ammo.
All these suggestions are great! I’m excited to explore my options. Every comment brings something new to consider, especially about barrel length and threading.
I’ve tried several .22 LR pistols with suppressors. The Ruger Mark IV is a great host; combining it with a Dead Air Mask is superb for sound reduction, rated around 114 dB. Highly recommend it!
I’ve heard great things about the Dead Air Mask! Have you noticed how it compares to others like the SilencerCo Warlock? Just curious about the differences in sound.
