Looking for Reviews on Taurus PT100 .40 Cal?

I’m considering buying a Taurus PT100 in .40 caliber and I could use some insights from those who own or have shot one. Here are a few specific things I’m curious about:

Performance

  • How does it handle in terms of recoil and accuracy?
  • What has been your experience with its reliability during shooting sessions?

Design

  • Is it comfortable to hold and shoot for extended periods?
  • How do you feel about the overall build quality?

Overall Thoughts

  • Would you recommend it for both beginners and experienced shooters?
  • What do you think about its market value for what you get?

Any personal experiences, pros, or cons would be greatly appreciated! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

I’ve had my Taurus PT100 for about a year now. It’s surprisingly accurate for a .40 cal, and I feel comfortable using it for home defense. The reliability is also impressive—I’ve had no jams.

That’s great to hear! I’m curious, how does it handle different types of ammunition? Any issues with specific brands?

I’ve used my PT100 with various brands, and it performs well with most. I’ve had a couple of hiccups with cheap ammo, though. But overall, it’s a solid choice.

Good to know! I’m looking for a reliable option for range practice. Does the PT100 have good recoil control?

Yes, the recoil is manageable! It’s not as snappy as some other .40s, which makes it easier to stay on target. The grip feels good in hand, too.

I agree with vmendez! The grip design is another plus point. I remember transitioning from a heavier gun and was surprised by how comfortable the PT100 was for extended sessions.

I’m glad to hear that! How does it perform in terms of cleaning and maintenance? Any tips?

Maintenance is pretty straightforward. Disassembly is easy, and it doesn’t build up gunk like some others. Just make sure to keep it well-lubricated.

Sounds user-friendly! I wish all guns were that simple. Anyone had issues with customer service from Taurus?

Unfortunately, I had a minor issue with my PT100, and their customer service was slow to respond. But they eventually helped me out. Just be patient if you need assistance.

That’s a bummer. I appreciate the heads-up! Overall, is the PT100 a good value for the price?

I’ve owned the Taurus PT100 for about a year now. It has a solid build and shoots accurately. But compared to others like the Glock 22, it may feel a bit heavier. Still, I find it reliable for home defense.

That’s great to hear! I’m considering the Taurus myself. How does the recoil compare to the Smith & Wesson M&P .40? I’m looking for something manageable.

The PT100 definitely has less recoil than the M&P .40, which is nice for follow-up shots. However, some might argue the M&P has a better grip ergonomics. It ultimately depends on personal preference.

What do you think about the aesthetics? The Taurus has a unique look but does that matter in functionality?

While aesthetics can be subjective, I think it can boost your confidence in handling the firearm. I like the PT100’s look, but the functionality of a Glock can’t be overlooked. That said, Taurus is often more affordable!

True, but I’ve seen some reports about Glock’s finish wearing down over time. Has anyone had this issue? I’m curious how the Taurus stands up.

I’ve definitely had issues with the finish on my Glock, but the Taurus PT100 has held up pretty well. It’s made of stainless steel, so it offers some extra corrosion resistance. Just keep it clean!

That’s a relief to hear! Anyone have experience with it for concealed carry? I wonder if it’s too bulky for that purpose.
