Looking for Recommendations on Glock 27 Extended Mag 22 Round?

Hey everyone!

I’m currently considering getting an extended magazine for my Glock 27 and I’ve been eyeing the 22 round options. I know that having extra capacity can significantly enhance usability, especially for personal defense or even during recreational shooting sessions.

Here’s what I’m hoping to find:

  • Product Recommendations: What reliable brands or models have you found to work best with the Glock 27? Any specific ones that have stood out for their durability or performance?
  • Compatibility Issues: Have any of you experienced compatibility concerns with your Glock 27 when using these extended mags? I’ve heard mixed reviews about some aftermarket options.
  • Shooting Experience: How has the extended mag changed your shooting experience? Is the weight distribution noticeably different, or does it impact the handling in any way?
  • Legal Considerations: Are there any local laws that I should be aware of regarding magazine capacity that might affect my purchase?

I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences you all would like to share. Thanks in advance for your help! Looking forward to optimizing my Glock experience!

Cheers!

I’ve been using a Glock 27 with a 22-round extended mag for over a year. I haven’t faced any significant feeding issues, but I’ve heard that not all brands work well. Make sure to test before counting on it in a critical situation.

That’s great to hear! How often do you experience jamming? I’ve been hesitant to try it because I’ve heard mixed reviews.

I’ve had really good luck with my extended mag, but it needed a slight modification to fit perfectly. A little sanding on the back of the mag helped with a snug fit, no jams since then!

Interesting! Did you notice any changes in the reliability after the modification?

I’d say give it a shot! My friend had a Glock 27 and it fed fine with the 22-rounders. He actually prefers them over the standard ones for the extra rounds. Just make sure to test different brands.

That’s encouraging! Are there specific brands you would recommend for reliability?

I’ve had mixed experiences with the 22-rounders. Sometimes they work great, other times there’s jamming. I’d advise running a few hundred rounds through them to see if any issues arise.

That sounds frustrating! Have you tried any modifications or different types of ammo to fix the problem?

I haven’t made any modifications yet. Just using regular ammo. Maybe I should try hollow points instead and see if that helps? Has anyone else tried that?

I’ve read that hollow points can feed more smoothly. Give it a try and report back! We need reliable sources here!

Just a heads up, I’ve also heard that high-velocity ammo tends to cycle better in extended mags. Might be worth a shot!

That’s good info! So maybe the issue is more with the ammo rather than the magazine itself? It would save a lot of hassle!

Honestly, every gun has its quirks. If the 22-round mag does work well for you, that’s awesome! Just stay aware of potential issues. Better to know before it matters!

So true! It’s all about safety and preparation. Let’s keep each other posted on our findings; it helps everyone!

Why not just buy a rifle instead? Just kidding! If the Glock works for you, stick with it. Everyone has a preference, right?

If you’re considering a Glock 27 with a 22-round extended mag, definitely check your state’s laws. Some states have strict magazine capacity limits that could make it illegal for you to carry it.

That’s a great point! I live in California, where having a 22-rounder could land you in trouble. Always better to double-check!

Beyond legality, make sure you’re aware of how these extended magazines might affect your carry options. Some places might not allow longer magazines while carrying.

Absolutely! It’s good to know what you’re getting into. I think it’s also important to be aware of city ordinances, too.
