Looking for Deer Butchers in NH - Any Recommendations?

I’m on the hunt for a reliable deer butcher in New Hampshire. As hunting season is approaching, I’m hoping to find someone who can process my deer properly once I’m successful.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Quality Processing: I want to ensure that the meat is treated with care.
  • Local Butchers: Ideally, I’d prefer to support local businesses.
  • Experience with Deer: It would be great if they specialize in deer or game meat.
  • Turnaround Time: Understanding how long it might take to get my deer processed is important.

Things I’d Love to Hear From You:

  • Your Experiences: Have you used a butcher in NH before?
  • Pricing: What should I expect in terms of cost?
  • Recommendations: Any specific places you’d recommend or that I should avoid?

I’d appreciate any input from fellow hunters. Looking forward to your suggestions!

I’ve been using Laconia Meat Market for years! They do an amazing job with processing and the prices are fair. It’s nice to have a place that treats you well and knows what they’re doing.

I’ve heard great things about Laconia! How do their prices compare to others in the area?

I highly recommend Vachon’s Market. Their customer service is top-notch, and they really care about the quality of their work. You won’t be disappointed!

Vachon’s has a good reputation! Do they also offer special packages for larger deer?

Quality and price vary so much! I used a place in Concord last year, and they charged a fortune but the work was so-so. I won’t be going back!

Sounds frustrating! Do you mind sharing the name of that Concord place? I’d like to avoid it!

I can suggest Two Rivers butchers in Manchester! They have a fun vibe and blow people away with their deer processing skills. Plus, they can do custom cuts!

Custom cuts do sound appealing! What’s the turnaround time like there?

I’ve been to Two Rivers and loved their work! They’re quick too—usually have my deer ready within a week. Can’t beat that!

That’s impressive! I think I’ll give them a try this season. Any tips on what to order?

I’ve had a great experience with Tom’s Wildlife Processing in Concord. They offer a range of cuts and also make some fantastic sausage!

What types of sausage do they offer at Tom’s? I love a good spicy venison sausage!

They have several types, including Italian, breakfast, and smoked. They even do custom blends if you ask nicely!

Does anyone know if they do specialty items like jerky or summer sausage? I’d love to try some unique stuff this season.

Yes, they do! You can get elk and venison jerky there too. Definitely a crowd favorite during hunting season!

That’s awesome, Gregory! I might go with Tom’s then. What should I expect in terms of processing time? I’m a bit anxious about it.

Usually, they say around 2-3 weeks depending on the season. Just be sure to call ahead and check their current workload!

I’ve heard differing opinions about butchers in NH. Some say they can be pricey! What price range should we expect?
