Help! Glock Trigger Pin Stuck - Need Tips!

I’m currently facing a frustrating issue with my Glock – the trigger pin seems to be completely stuck. I’ve tried a few things, but nothing has worked so far. Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve attempted:

  • Lubrication: Applied some penetrating oil hoping it would loosen the pin.
  • Tapping: Used a small hammer to gently tap it, but I’m worried about damaging the frame.
  • Heat: I briefly applied heat to the area, but it seems like the pin won’t budge.

I’d really appreciate any advice on how to proceed! Has anyone experienced this before? What methods worked for you? I’m open to suggestions for any special tools or techniques that might help without causing damage to my Glock. Thanks in advance for your help!

Additional Details:

  • Model: Glock 19
  • Age: About 3 years
  • Maintenance: Regularly cleaned and oiled

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Have you checked if the trigger pin is flush with the frame? If it protrudes, it could be a sign it’s stuck. Other symptoms include the trigger failing to reset or release after firing.

Good point! I also noticed some unusual resistance when trying to disassemble. Is that a common symptom too?

Absolutely, unusual resistance during disassembly can definitely indicate that the pin is stuck. It’s vital to address this since it may affect your safety.

What about if there’s no movement in the trigger? Could that also be a sign?

Yes, a total failure to move could certainly indicate a stuck pin. It’s essential to start troubleshooting immediately for safety’s sake.

I would also recommend checking for any debris around the trigger assembly that could complicate things.

Debris can definitely play a role! I’ve had issues where dirt buildup caused similar symptoms. Cleaning thoroughly might help release it.

If none of that works, I suggest using a punch tool to gently nudge the pin. Just be cautious – you don’t want to damage the firearm.

Seems risky! What if the pin refuses to budge and I end up breaking something?

I totally get that concern, vcohen! It’s a delicate balance between applying pressure and not causing damage. If in doubt, consulting a gunsmith might be best.

Haha, wouldn’t that be nice! But remember, addressing it correctly is crucial for safety. How’s your pin looking now? Any progress?

I haven’t made progress yet. Still fearful of doing something wrong, but I appreciate all your advice!

It’s perfectly understandable, darrell85! Take your time and don’t rush it. Safety always comes first with firearms!

I had a stuck trigger pin once! I used a punch and some penetrating oil to help free it. Just be careful not to damage the frame!

Great tip! Did you use a specific type of punch, or just what you had on hand?

Using penetrating oil like WD-40 can really help! Let it sit for a bit before trying to tap it out. Give it a good shake afterward!

Sounds like the oil technique is the way to go. Anyone tried using heat? A little warmth might expand the metal and loosen the pin.
