Best Red Dot Sights for Kel-Tec PMR-30?

I’m looking to enhance my aiming capabilities with the Kel-Tec PMR-30 by adding a red dot sight, and I could really use some feedback and recommendations! Here are a few points I’m considering:

What to Look For in a Red Dot Sight

  • Mount Compatibility: Does anyone know which mounts work best with the PMR-30?
  • Durability: I’d prefer something robust enough to withstand some rough handling.
  • Battery Life: Long-lasting battery life is a must for convenience.
  • Ease of Installation: Any tips on how to install them correctly without making it a hassle?

Specific Models Thoughts

I’ve seen a few models recommended like the Vortex Venom and the Holosun HS510C. Has anyone had experience with these on the PMR-30? What works and what doesn’t?

Open for Suggestions

I’m also open to any other brands or models that you guys think would fit well on it. Personal experiences with any red dot sights would be super helpful. Let’s share what works so we can all improve our shooting game!

I’ve been researching red dot sights for my PMR-30, and the Vortex Venom seems to be a popular choice. It has a clear sight picture and good battery life. Anyone else using it?

I’ve heard great things about the Vortex Venom too! Just make sure to get the right mounting plate, as the PMR-30 needs a specific setup.

Don’t forget to check the Holosun HS503C! I’ve had mine for a few months now, and it fits perfectly on the PMR-30. It also has multiple reticle options, which I love.

That’s a solid option! I’m considering a red dot sight with a solar backup. Do you think the Holosun fits that bill?

The HS503C does have solar backup! It’s a smart choice for anyone concerned about battery life. Just be careful with how you mount it; some PMR-30 users have had issues with stability.

I had to use a spacers kit to get my red dot to sit flush. It really helps with sight picture, especially since the PMR-30’s rail is a bit unique.

Very informative, David! Any recommendations for mounting options? I want to avoid any unnecessary modifications.

It depends on the specific red dot, but I suggest checking out aftermarket mounting plates specifically designed for the PMR-30. They tend to fit better and allow easier adjustments.

Don’t forget about the red dot sight from Bushnell! It’s compact and doesn’t weigh much, which is great for a lightweight pistol like the PMR-30.

The Bushnell sight sounds good! Does it hold up in really bright sunlight? That’s a concern for me.

I’ve used the Bushnell in sunlight, and it held up well! Just make sure to adjust the brightness settings accordingly.

I feel like we could start a fan club for these red dots! I mean, who knew a PMR-30 could get so fancy? :joy:

Haha, I think I’d be the president! But seriously, is it worth the investment for occasional shooters?

If you plan to use the PMR-30 often, definitely! A good red dot sight enhances accuracy and makes shooting far more enjoyable.

I appreciate the feedback! Is there a specific brand or model you all recommend for those who may be just starting out?

For beginners, I’d suggest the Sightmark Mini Shot. It’s affordable and works decently. Perfect for getting comfortable with red dots on the PMR-30.

I’ve had great luck with the Vortex Venom on my PMR-30! The clarity is fantastic and it helped me improve my accuracy significantly. Highly recommend it!

I totally agree! The Vortex Venom is lightweight and ultra-compact, making it perfect for the PMR-30. It really shines in rapid target acquisition.

I’ve tried the Holosun 507C and found its reticle options really appealing! It was easy to switch between the circle and dot.
