Best Hiking Holster for Glock 20?

I’m looking for some recommendations on holsters that are great for hiking with a Glock 20. I’ve done a fair bit of research, but I’d love to hear from those who have actually used specific holsters in outdoor settings. Here are the points I’m particularly interested in:

Comfort

  • Carrying a Glock 20 can be bulky, so comfort is key. Which holsters do you find most comfortable for long hikes?

Functionality

  • How easy is it to access your firearm from the holster? I want something that allows quick access but also ensures the gun stays secure while moving freely.

Durability

  • Since this is for hiking, I’ve got to consider weather and rugged terrain. What materials hold up best for outdoor use?

Concealment

  • I’d prefer something that isn’t too obvious, especially if I’m passing through public areas. Are any of you using holsters that effectively conceal the Glock 20 while still being functional?

Recommendations

  • If you could share brands or specific models that worked well for you, that would be great. Any particular features that stood out?

I appreciate any insights or personal experiences you can share. Looking forward to your recommendations!

I’m looking for the best hiking holster for my Glock 20 as well. Comfort and accessibility are key for me. Any suggestions?

Have you checked out the Alien Gear Cloak Tuck? It provides great comfort and is adjustable!

I have the Blackhawk Serpa. It’s a solid choice, especially for outdoor use. The retention is excellent, and it’s easy to access quickly.

I’ve heard mixed reviews about the Serpa’s safety when hiking. Is it really that reliable?

I agree with christensenaaron about the Serpa, but remember to use it properly in the outdoors. I’ve had mine for years with no issues!

For weather resistance, the Galco KingTuk is my favorite. It holds up well against the elements and is very comfortable.

Weather resistance is a must! I recently tried a holster by CrossBreed and loved how it handled rain during my hike last week.

Does the Galco allow for easy access while hiking, though? I worry about that.

Definitely check the retention and adjustability of any holster. A good fit makes all the difference in accessibility during hikes!

Totally! Can anyone share their experiences on accessibility with the holsters mentioned?

I personally love my Concealment Express IWB holster. It fits snugly and allows for quick reaches without any fuss!

That sounds promising! How does it fare with comfort while hiking?

The Concealment Express is surprisingly comfortable! I hiked for hours, and it felt nearly weightless. Plus, it stays close to the body.

That’s great to hear! Comfort is so subjective though; what feels good for one might not for another, right?

Totally! It’s all about personal preference and how much weight we’re carrying. Sometimes, the perfect holster can feel like a brick on a long hike.

When looking for a holster for your Glock 20, prioritize retention and comfort, especially for hiking. There are great options like OWB (Outside the Waistband) and thigh holsters that offer good accessibility and security.

Absolutely! And remember, different states have different laws about carrying firearms while hiking. Always check local regulations before you head out.

Local laws can vary significantly. In some places, it’s legal to carry openly, while others require concealment. Make sure you understand what’s permitted in your hiking area.

Good point! It’s also wise to consider how carrying a firearm could impact your hiking experience and safety, particularly if you encounter wildlife.
