Anyone Have Insights on the Smith and Wesson 1026?

Seeking Feedback on the Smith & Wesson 1026

I’ve recently come across the Smith & Wesson Model 1026 and I’m curious about its unique features and value in today’s market. It seems like a solid handgun, but I’d love to gather some insights from those who have experience with it.

Here are a few specific areas I’m interested in:

  • Market Value: What have you seen in terms of pricing if you were looking to buy or sell?
  • Specifications: Any detailed info about its technical specifications that I should know?
  • Historical Context: I understand this model was used by state police in the past. Can anyone share details about its historical significance?
  • Personal Experiences: For those who own or have used the 1026, what’s your take? How has it performed for you in various situations?
  • Availability: Are there active listings currently where someone could purchase this model?

I’m looking forward to hearing from anyone who’s had a chance to use or collect this firearm. Your feedback will help me better understand whether this is the right addition to my collection!

Thanks in advance for your input!

I’ve had my Smith and Wesson 1026 for about a year now. It’s been reliable and performs well. No major issues so far, which is great!

Totally agree! I’ve shot hundreds of rounds and the accuracy is spot on every time.

What type of ammo are people using with their 1026? I’ve noticed some variations in performance depending on what I use.

I primarily use 180 grain FMJ. It feels consistent and I haven’t faced any major issues.

I love the way the 1026 feels in hand. It’s comfortable for extended shooting sessions. Has anyone else found it ergonomic?

Absolutely! Though, I sometimes wish the weight distribution was a bit different for better balance during rapid fire.

I’ve read mixed reviews online about the trigger. Personally, I find it smooth, but some say it’s too stiff. What do you all think?

I can see both sides. It took me a while to get used to it, but now I appreciate the feedback it gives.

I use my 1026 for both competition and personal defense. It’s been a solid choice for both uses, though I did have some feeding issues early on.

That’s interesting, because I’ve never faced any feeding issues. Maybe it was just a break-in period?

Honestly, if there were a reliable way to improve the sights, I’d be all in. The factory sights could use an upgrade for my taste.

I get that! A set of night sights would really make it shine, especially in low light.

I noticed some slight rust forming on mine but nothing that couldn’t be cleaned off easily. Just be sure to maintain it well.

Maintenance is key with any firearm. Don’t forget that! A good routine keeps everything functioning smoothly.

While I do enjoy my 1026, I can’t help but wonder if it’s worth the price point compared to similar models on the market.

It’s all about personal preference! For me, the reliability justifies the cost.

I’ve had my Smith and Wesson 1026 for a couple of years now. It performs well, but I find it a bit heavier compared to models like the Glock 20. Still, the accuracy is excellent!

That’s interesting! I always thought the weight would help with stability. How do you feel about its trigger pull compared to others?

I found the trigger pull to be decent, not too stiff. It’s definitely smoother than some of the polymers out there. Anyone have feedback on the 1016 for comparison?
